Federal Circle Station Lot: Reservation Only
Federal Circle sits between the terminals and the long-term lot, next to the AirTrain station of the same name and the rental-car centre. It is reservation only, subject to availability, and bookings must be made at least three hours ahead. Prebooked rates start at about $55 a day. Prebooking is the single biggest lever on your parking bill at JFK, and the airport is explicit about why: parking is limited during construction, so reserving both guarantees a space and unlocks the lower rate. The rules are simple:
- Reserve at least three hours before you arrive at the airport.

Paying for Parking and Getting Out Faster
JFK's lots take credit and debit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express), E-ZPass, and contactless wallets including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. To save time on exit, pay at an Express Pay machine before you walk back to the car.
E-ZPass Plus deserves a note of its own because the lanes behave differently. Enter through the lanes marked with purple E-ZPass signs, wait for the arm to rise — it can take up to 20 seconds — and do not pull a ticket. Your tag is read again at the exit plaza and the account is charged at posted rates. If the fee is $20 or under it comes out of your E-ZPass balance; if it is $20 or more it goes to the credit card linked to the account, which must be valid and the account replenished.
Accessible Parking at JFK
Accessible bays are available in every JFK lot, including near terminal entrances and in the long-term lot beside the Howard Beach and Lefferts Boulevard AirTrain stations, subject to availability. Your vehicle must prominently display a non-expired, state-issued ADA licence plate, placard or permit; violators are towed.
A courtesy discount caps the charge at $35 per 24 hours, with time billed in 30-minute increments up to that maximum. The mechanics matter:
- The discount cannot be combined with a prebooked reservation or with E-ZPass payment.
- Do not use the E-ZPass lanes — enter through the ticket lane and pull a ticket.
- On exit, press the HELP button; an attendant validates the ADA tag and adjusts the fee.
- At the Terminal 4 Blue Lot, restricted-mobility parkers with a valid placard or tag do not need to prebook. At Federal Circle there is no ADA discount at all.

Charging is patchy but free in one place. Level 2 ChargePoint units are in the Terminal 5 Yellow Lot and the electricity is free — you still pay to enter the lot. Level 3 (fast) chargers are in the West Cell Phone Lot, run by Revel and Evolve, and at the JFK Travel Plaza, run by Tesla; both are paid, usually by contactless or the operator's app. Charging time depends on the charger and the car, parking fees are collected when you leave the lot, and PlugShare is the airport's suggested tool for finding a working unit.

The Port Authority's own advice is blunt — parking is limited because of construction and heavy traffic, so use public transport if you can. The arithmetic backs it up for solo travellers. Groups flip the maths. AirTrain's OMNY Group Fare charges the first rider $8.75 and each additional rider $4.50, up to five people and a maximum of $26.75, with all riders tapping within five minutes.
