JFK Airport’s Parking Options
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) provides a full range of parking facilities designed to meet every traveler’s needs. Each terminal has its own short-term parking area located within walking distance from the terminal entrances, while a large Long-Term Parking Lot and two Cell Phone Waiting Areas are also available for extended stays or convenient pick-ups and drop-offs. In addition, roadside assistance services (such as tire change and battery jump-starts) are offered on-site.
New York Airport Short-Term Parking Lots
Every JFK terminal has a nearby short-term parking lot connected to its entrances and linked to other terminals via the free AirTrain, which runs every 7 minutes during peak times. The parking areas are color-coded for convenience:
- Green Lot – Terminals 1 & 2
- Blue Lot – Terminal 4
- Yellow Lot – Terminal 5
- Orange Lot – Terminal 7
- Red Lot – Terminal 8
Tip 1:EV charging stations are available in the Yellow Lot (T5), offering five charging points.
Tip 2: Reserve premium parking online to secure the best rates and guaranteed spots.
JFK Airport Long-Term Parking
For overnight or multi-day stays, travelers should use the Long-Term Parking Lot 9 (Economy Parking), located near Lefferts Boulevard AirTrain Station, approximately 4 miles (6.5 km) from the terminals. The AirTrain offers a free 10-minute ride from Lot 9 to all terminals.
Important: Vehicles parked longer than 30 days must be registered with ABM Parking Services on the day of arrival. This applies to both short-term and long-term facilities.
Federal Circle Station Parking
The Federal Circle Station Parking Lot lies midway between the airport terminals and Lot 9. It is available by reservation only, which must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Rates are as follows:
- 20€ / $20 per day
- 10€ / $10 for each additional 12 hours
Drop-off and Pick-up Areas at JFK
Stopping directly in front of terminal entrances is strictly prohibited for private vehicles — only taxis and authorized transport can load or unload passengers there. Instead, travelers have three alternatives:
- Terminal Parking Lots: Park close to your terminal (subject to the regular hourly fee) for maximum convenience.
- Cell Phone Lots: Two free waiting areas are available — one on Van Wyck Expressway (373 spaces) and another on JFK Expressway (127 spaces). Drivers must remain inside their vehicles at all times.
- Kiss & Fly Zone: Located at Lefferts Boulevard Station, this area allows for quick, comfortable farewells before passengers take the AirTrain to their departure terminal.
Tip: The West Cell Phone Lot includes 10 EV charging stations for electric vehicles.
Accessible Parking for Persons with Reduced Mobility
All JFK parking facilities include designated accessible parking spaces located near the entrances. Both short-term and long-term lots provide reduced rates for passengers with mobility permits or official disabled license plates. Proper documentation must be displayed.
JFK Airport Parking Fares and Prices
Parking rates at JFK vary depending on location and duration. Online pre-booking guarantees the best prices and availability. Payments are accepted via debit/credit card or contactless methods — cash is not accepted. Drivers with E-ZPass Plus may use it for automated payment.
